DON’T: WASH YOUR HAIR OFTEN. Even after the obligatory 3-5 days without washing your hair after the keratin treatment, you should wash your hair less often than before. 6. Trim Hair at Regular Intervals. Trimming is part of taking care of your hair, and especially for rebonded hair. It is essential to remove the split-ends of the strands from time to time after getting rebonded. Through regular trimming, hair strands get the opportunity to grow out faster in a healthy way.
Keratin treatments require high heat to work properly. Coloring your hair too soon after a keratin treatment can fade or oxidize the color. The cuticle is still opened up from the smoothing treatment, so coloring right away allows the hair dye to escape. The results will be disappointing – uneven color, patchiness, and lackluster results.
Avoid washing your hair for at least three days after the Keratin treatment. This allows the product to set into your hair follicles fully. 2. Use a sulfate-free shampoo and leave-in conditioner.
