These were all shot using the 1Ds II: ‘Chocolate head’ – shot in 2009 using the Canon EOS 1 Ds mark II. ‘Fork’ – shot in 2012 with the Canon EOS 1Ds mark II and its 100 mm f/2.8 Macro USM (non-L). ‘Skyline’ – shot in 2012 with a Canon EOS 1 Ds mark II and 100 mm macro f/2.8 (non-L version).

If you have no other use for the SDXC card you can format it on a PC as FAT32 and then format in camera. Capacity will be 32GB max. As with its smaller cousin the EOS 1D Mark III, the Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III now has a live view rear screen. This shows the viewfinder image in "real time" with a 100% field of view. It also has a selectable live histogram and grid overlay that simulates image exposure as you work. The view now has a magnification range of 5-10x to ensure shot Canon has done it again with the 1Ds Mk III and I expect that studios across the globe will be ordering them as a matter of course, just for the high resolution. In use it's a workhorse, and what it lacks in grace and beauty is made up for with its strength and results and what results! The image quality achievable from the 1Ds Mk III, when I've used several Cameras from Canon, including the F-1N, 10D, 20D, 1Ds, 1Ds Mark II, and now the 1Ds Mark III. This camera will provide you with the tool to capture great work, but you'll need the best lenses. Cheap zooms or cheap prime lenses will produce chromatic aberrations that will make the money spent on this camera a waste. Before buying any pre-Mark III 1D or 1Ds Canon, or other similarly-old cameras, be sure to see about the availability, and expense, of the Ni-Cad batteries, and notice the weight and bulk of such batteries. Modern, relatively more-compact Lithium-Ion batteries do make life easier, especially when traveling.
