Jeep WJ 247-242HD Swap. If you have a 1999-2001 WJ, you might have a CV joint at the transfer case instead of a u-joint. In this case you will need to also find a donor shaft out of a 02+ V8 Grand Cherokee, or swap your old output to the new transfer case. The u-joint setup is much better and highly recommended however.
4.7L Radiator Replacement Write Up. I thought I'd write up a few tips for the 4.7L owners who need to do a radiator replacement (sorry, no pix). I tried to follow the Haynes Repair Manual but it was totally worthless. I worked on a 2004 Grand Cherokee and bought the $80 or $90 radiator (shipped) sold on eBay. NO EXCEPTIONS! Important note: The factory fill power steering fluid for all 1999-2004 Grand Cherokees is a unique fluid, MS5931. ATF+4 (MS9602) should not be mixed or used as a “topping off” fluid on the Grand Cherokee WJ. Hello newbie here chiming in With my 4x2 Grand Cherokee Limited im getting right at 17 in town and upwards of 23-24 on the highway, I run both Lucas and Seafoam about every 7k miles through the system to stay on top of these marks. Some might say different, however the numbers dont lie 325 to 350 miles a tank. Reground Cams and home-made CAI.

Here's a pic of my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee gauge cluster - the oil gauge is on the top right and just has L and H markings, no numbers. It is a Canadian-issue "Olympic Edition", basically a Laredo with a few of the options from the Limited model, such as 17-inch wheels.
