Yes it is! I have played both PS2 and the PS3 version. The PS3 version is a heck of alot better than the PS2 version. They have 60 cars in the game to start with (you still have to unlock them though) and then I think it goes up to 72 when you include DLC.;) Graphics of course are much better

The cars and upgrades i used are as follows: Career 01 Grip/Ray Krieger/Ryo Watanabe - Porsche 911 Turbo (Engine, Forced Induction, Suspension, Tires + Brakes - Stage 3. Drivetrain + Nitrous Oxide - Stage 4). 675 BHP Drag/Karol Monroe/Ryo Watanabe - Ford GT - (All Stats - Stage 3). 827 BHP To sum it up, if you want a game with arcade like handling, as well as cops and street racing, then get carbon, but if you want a more realistic game with damage but no traffic or cops, then get ProStreet.
